Runner Information

The Austin Half Marathon is a scenic course through the city, navigating rolling hills and landmarks like the Texas State Capital, South Congress Avenue, Lake Austin and more. Runners can expect a great tour of the city, while enjoying amenities and entertainment along the way.

Those looking to sign up for this year's race can take advantage of this special discount designed for Visit Austin users.

Spectator Information

The race weekend is expected to bring together locals and visitors, with the race morning on Sunday, winding through the best of Austin, and concluding with an Austin-style Finisher Festival. Expect to hear live music throughout the race course, and rock out to tunes by Austin musicians.

It may feel a little overwhelming to decide where you'll cheer on your friends and family along the course, so here are a few of our favorite places to watch from the sidelines:

South Congress AvenueThe first three miles of the course are a steady climb on South Congress Avenue. There are tons of great spots along this stretch to cheer on the runners as they start their journey.

South First StreetThe runners have just finished the three-mile climb up South Congress and now pick up some speed with the downhill portion on South First Street.

Austin City HallThe course creates a great viewing opportunity at Austin City Hall, as the runners turn west onto Cesar Chavez Street.

Pfluger Pedestrian BridgeOn the north side of Lady Bird Lake, the scenic Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge extension passes over the course, offering an overhead view of the runners as they move west.

Oyster LandingAs the runners trek through beautiful West Austin, trailing the winding Colorado River, spectators can park themselves on the patio at Mozart's Coffee Roasted to watch the course take a sharp east turn towards the finish.

The FinishOnce you’ve shared the love out on the race route, it’s worth coming down to the finish area on Congress, just south of the Capitol. Enjoy live music, food trailers and two jumbotrons at the Finish Line, where you can witness the runners converge.
